“Most of us lead far more meaningful lives than we know. Often finding meaning is not about doing things differently; it is about seeing familiar things in new ways.” – Rachel Naomi Remen
Often times a client will talk a lot about someone in their life they think is doing fantastic work. Tell me about them, I’ll say. They’ll start listing accomplishments, relationships, the way they feel around them, and what this person brings to their life. Then I get to point to accomplishments my client has shared or ways they’ve enriched my life too. That’s the power here. We are touching more lives than we know. We are enriching other folks in the same way we admire in others… “The way you do one thing is the way that you do everything.”
Pay attention to the small moments at the beginning of the day that you are grateful for. Acknowledge yourself at the end of the day for what you are most proud of, no matter the size or shape of it. As adrienne maree brown says, “This is all the miracle. If this is all the miracle, then what was amazing today?”
MANTRA: I am living a deep, rich, meaningful life. I matter. Even in the moments of unknown, I trust this purpose and impact.
JOURNAL: What is bringing you purpose? In what ways do I feel like I am contributing to my life, to others, to the world?
These Soulful Sunday blogs go out weekly on Sundays to be used as a place to step back from the hustle and bustle and explore what your soul might be saying to you. Some folks use these as journal prompts and let loose amidst pages. Some folks bring them to the kitchen table and jam over coffee. Do you, boo.
