These Soulful Sunday blogs go out weekly on Sundays to be used as a place to step back from the hustle and bustle and explore what your soul might be saying to you. Some folks use these as journal prompts and let loose amidst pages. Some folks bring them to the kitchen table and jam over coffee. Do you, boo.
“You are the only person alive who has sole custody of your life. Your particular life. Your entire life. Not just your life at a desk, or your life on the bus, or in the car, or at the computer. Not just the life of your mind, but the life of your heart. Not just your bank account, but your soul.” – Anna Quindlen
This one is for the heart strings. You, m’dear, are in charge of the life of your heart. No one else will nourish and nurture it as you will. Often, in the swirl of the to do lists (and why do Sundays always feel like the Monday To Do List is hovering a little bit too close?), we forget to turn to the heart and say, “Heart, how can I nourish you?” I often remind my clients that we were taught to pay attention to what the mind says. Most of us were not taught to turn to the heart as frequently. Yet, by living deeply in our hearts, we feel more connected to our lives, and inevitably the communities and the work that we are doing. You get to nourish the life of your heart.
