“Beauty is about more rounded substantial becoming. And when we cross a new threshold worthily, what we do is we heal the patterns of repetition that were in us that has us caught somewhere.” – John O’Donohue
The cycle of healing happens on a new threshold. You will feel the oldness of the wounds. You will feel like this pain has come before, like you know this place. It will feel familiar in your body and your mind will weave a story to align with the pain coming up. And here my dear, you are at a threshold. This next moment matters. You can’t fuck it up. BUT, how you cross this threshold will help your healing or assign you the task of crossing this again and healing again. The universe gives us ample opportunities to do our healing work. At the doorway of this threshold lies a choice. You can choose to hold your head up. You may still feel your aching heart, and yet you cross with grace, accepting this moment and doing the work of deep alignment. Accept that this threshold is here for you. Beauty happens in the becoming. It’s not stagnant. It is not perfect. It is the choiceful crossing, and it does not always “feel good.”As you go through life, you will find new thresholds of worthiness. Try to courageously notice the patterns. Don’t back away, but ask: What is the threshold I’m trying to step over? What do I need to know to do this? What do I need to choose? How can I make this choice? You need to choose and declare and trust that the worthiness comes in the stepping.
Step forth in all your glory,
JESS
These Soulful Sunday blogs go out weekly on Sundays to be used as a place to step back from the hustle and bustle and explore what your soul might be saying to you. Some folks use these as journal prompts and let loose amidst pages. Some folks bring them to the kitchen table and jam over coffee. Do you, boo.
